REV'IT! Core 2 Jacket

Our staff tried on a few different sizes of this Core 2 jacket and we found a good fit in the size we usually wear in men’s clothing. We found the fit to be pretty snug in our normal size which would be ideal for wearing under motorcycling jackets. For that purpose ,we recommend you buy the size you normally wear in men’s clothing. If you think you’ll want to wear this jacket for casual use (not under a motorcycle jacket), then one size larger would be the best bet.

The Core 2 Jacket from REV’IT! Is an insulated mid layer jacket that is designed to keep you warm while riding in the cold weather seasons. A mid layer jacket like this one is great for those colder days as it fits over your base layers but under your protective motorcycle gear to keep you warm. Keep in mind mid layer jackets don’t offer abrasion resistance or impact protection so they should always be worn with a protective motorcycle jacket to ensure you are as safe as possible.

The Core 2 jacket is primarily made out of polyester and features thermal insulation but does not feature Primaloft® Gold or Silver like the Fremantle or Solar 3 Jackets from REV’IT!. Because of this the insulation levels of this jacket won’t be quite as good as the previously mentioned jackets but it does come in at a much lower price point. If I had to rank in order of ability to keep you warm in would go this, the Core 2, then the Solar 3 and then the Fremantle as the best one. Again though, depending on your needs and how cold it gets, the Core 2 could end up being the better value for the money. Much like other mid layer jackets from REV’IT! The Core 2 comes with an included transport bag and packs down quite nicely to take up minimal space. When packed down the Core 2 jacket makes a pack that is roughly six by nine inches when holding a size XL.

Again like most of REV’IT!’s mid layer jackets, the Core 2 can be worn completely off the bike as a regular jacket, as a mid layer under your riding jacket and can be used as a destination jacket once your journey ends, it’s quite versatile. Additional features include a high collar to keep wind out and your neck warm, elasticated cuffs and waistband for better fit and comfort as well as two slit pockets at the waist that are zipper enclosed. You do also get reflective logos both on the front and the back for added night time visibility. Overall the Core 2 jacket can help extend your riding season and depending on how cold of a weather you are facing, could be a really good value for the money.
