The REV'IT Austin Jeans seems to check all the right boxes for riding jeans. My normal jeans size are Levi's 505 @ 30"W x 30"L; I wanted to get a good pair of riding jeans for the more casual, short rides. My dad bought a pair earlier and was very impressed with the quality and safely features, recommending them for me. Paul's two-cents descriptions is also very accurate and helpful. I ordered the Austin jeans in the 30"W x 32"L; these jeans fit me quite well. The waist fits a bit large (vanity sized, but a belt can easily tighten). The back of the waist can ride a bit low in a sporting crouch. I got the optional SEESOFT hip pads and when installed, the hips become stiffer and slightly less flexible; but still comfortable. The cut of the jeans are "normal" (not skinny) and the upper legs are roomy enough for athletic quads and the legs taper down to a 7" opening, enough to cuff over my Sidi Tour Air boots (my Alpinestars racing boots will not fit). The SEESMART knee pads (very soft and flexible) and are barely noticeable as they melt into the pant legs. The heavy outer fabric is reinforced internally with protective liner in the seat/hips and knees, but the pants looks very trim even with the additional knee/hip armor. The pre-washed soft, stretchy denim/Cordura outer fabric is comfortable against the skin and feels broken-in. These pants are compliant/flexible and can be used for both upright and sport riding. The overall build quality and details are nicely done, REV'It has done their homework on "normal" looking riding jeans. This is a great find/buy at the sale price, MCG has always been a trusted vendor, a great source for quality gear at exceptional prices; always a pleasure, thanks!
