Sizing Information
We used a size 42 on our Fit Check Mannequin Shirley who is a standard size Large, Dress size 12. The jacket measured out correctly at 38” max chest. The actual measured waist of the jacket is considerably larger than REVIT’s standard size chart would indicate. For example on the size 42 we used for the photo shoot on Shirley, I measure the max waist at about 36”. A style like this is easily adjusted through the waist with the side buckles. Shirley has a waist of about 32” and it looks just fine on her. Max waist sizes are about 2” less than the max chest listed for each size rather than the much smaller size listed in the chart. .

Our Two Cents
Some people buy a mesh jacket for use in the hottest weather and then they own another “three season” jacket for the cooler weather months. This Eclipse mesh jacket would be perfect for use just during the hottest summer months. It is made to be value priced with just the basic features you need. And of course the price can be more reasonable as compared to other jackets that offer more features, such as removable liners, etc. The overall quality of this jacket is the same as with other REV’IT products… which is very good, so you aren’t buying a “cheap” mesh jacket with this one.
This jacket comes with CE armor in the shoulders and elbows and the jacket comes with a pocket for the addition of a CE level 2 back protector (see size recommendations below). The jacket shell is mostly mesh but there are solid textile overlays over the shoulders and elbows, down each side of the torso and across the kidney belt area too. On the inside of the tail of the jacket, there is a snap-close loop in the back you can attach around your belt. This helps hold the tail of the jacket down at high speed and also helps prevent the jacket from rising above the pant waist if you fall.
There are three good color choices. I hear people tell me they choose the light silver for the hottest Florida or Arizona-type weather, and this year, you can get the brown which has become popular in recent years. And of course black is always in style. :: Paul, 02-02-17
Add a Back Protector: This jacket is made with a pocket to accept a Seesoft CE Level 2 Back Protector Insert type RV (RV refers to the shape). Please follow the sizing advice on the back protector product page.
REVIT says: The Eclipse Ladies jacket covers the basics for female riders who want to be protected and comfortable when temperatures rise significantly. The outer shell is full mesh, with the exception of the impact zones which are carried out in abrasion resistant Polyester 600D. The Eclipse Ladies comes standard equipped with CE-rated shoulder and elbow protectors, with the option to expand protection levels through the installation our SEESOFT™ CE-level 2 back protector. For extra comfort, the jacket sports several adjustment options as well as a double jeans loop to keep the jacket in place when riding.
