We measured and tried on a selection of these pants and developed the table below to help you choose a size that is right for you. You’ll see that the waist sizes listed are larger than what you might see in typical men’s clothing, so please measure yourself or measure the waist of your best fitting pants and then use the chart to pick a size. For most, you’ll be choosing one size smaller than you might expect… hence the “Caution” label on this sizing advice.
These pants are available in regular, short and tall inseam sizes, so we’ve included inseam lengths in the chart as well. The pants have adjustability of the armor height (independent of inseam length). Velcro allows you to set the armor in different spots and you can check how the armor feels on your knee when you are sitting on the bike and decide which position seems best.
Also, the pants have an adjustable strap arrangement at the waist to help you fine tune the fit. We are showing a three inch range which was about what the adjusters seemed to do.
|Pant Size||Waist Estimate||Inseam Reg||Inseam Short||Inseam Tall|
Measurement tips: These pants have a fairly low rise, and so the waist will ride lower on your body similar to how ordinary jeans fit. So measure yourself along your “natural” waist line (and ignore the advice about measuring up high by your navel you’ll see if you follow the link below).
Use as overpants: Although these pants aren’t made with the features you’d find in overpants (namely full-length side zippers), they could be used as overpants. If you plan to do that, measure your waist OVER the clothing you think you’ll be wearing underneath.
Our Two Cents
These new Enterprise 2 pants from REVIT are a bit different in fit and style from the previous version. And they are a bit different in fit than most other waterproof pants we sell. It’s not a BIG difference, but these pants have a bit lower rise (length from crotch to waist line) than most motorcycle pants. Most MC pants ride higher on your waist, but these are cut more like jeans. Lots of people will like the way they fit. They are relatively slim cut through the seat and crotch and then about mid-thigh, they begin to flare slightly so that they’ll be more of a “boot cut” in the lower leg and will easily fit over any sort of boots you have. But even though they are boot cut, they can be snugged down over your boots with the Velcro tab at the bottom.
The pant shell is water resistant, but the pants are made waterproof with the use of a waterproof barrier that is installed between the pant’s outer shell and the inner lining. There is a gaiter to keep water from entering behind the fly or at the crotch. The fixed waterproof liner and the absence of any sort of venting means these pants will work best from cold weather (particularly if you add some layers underneath) to mild weather… and of course wet weather. In the heat, they’ll be cookers, so invest in a pair of vented pants for that. The pants have zippers part way up the legs to facilitate pulling them on over boots and street clothes. The overall cut isn’t overly roomy like you see with over-pant designs, so you could either use them as overpants or just pants over underwear (see our sizing description above).
These pants have two zippered front pockets and one cargo. And we noted some reflective materials to help with nighttime visibility so we included some night photos in our gallery. Just take the Images link above to see those and also all the features I’ve talked about here. Armor is included for the knees and there are pockets for the addition of optional hip armor. The knee armor can be adjusted for height with the clever containment pocket design. The ends of the legs are adjustable as well so you can use them with or without boots and have them fit well.
You can connect the pants to your favorite REVIT jacket with the short rear zipper, and if you have another brand jacket, you could easily adapt the jacket to zip to the pants because the pants come with the mating half of the connection zipper. OR, you can forgo the connection zipper issue all together and go with the Strapper Suspender solution below (a favorite of mine).
Overall, these are a great looking and great fitting pant. And of course the quality is there too. And since these pants aren’t any more expensive than most other brand pants, I think they are a great value. :: Paul, 03-15-16
