Sizing Information

Have a look at the sizing chart below to help you choose a size. This chart is provided by Speed and Strength.

I have a size Large here in the office and we took the close up photos on our sizing mannequin Shirley which is a women’s size Large/dress size 12. A longer style jacket like this is typically an easier fit than shorter and more sport style jackets. The side waist adjusters help a lot with getting a good fit. And the jacket has zips on either side of the hips to open up the size if needed.

I measured the chest on this size Large jacket at at about 40” max and the mid-section at about .36” max. and the hip area has a max size of 40” with the hip zippers closed and 44” with them open. In comparing that to the chart, it looks like the bust a hip measurements matches up well and the waist of the jacket has quite a bit more room than the chart would indicate. It could be the chart shows the waist with the side adjusters put in the smallest position.

Size Bust Waist Hip
XS 31 24-25 35-36
Small 33-34 26-27 37-38
Medium 35-36 28-29 39-40
Large 37-39 30-31 41-42
XL 40-42 32-34 43-44
2XL 42-44 34-36 44-45
3XL 45-48 37-39 46-49
4XL 47-50 39-41 48-51

Our Two Cents

I really like the looks and protective capability of this new Street Savvy jacket by Speed and Strength. Its a stylish jacket but it has a lot of practical features for the motorcyclist. Armor is included for the shoulders and elbows and also the back.

The shell of this jacket is a mix of three fabrics… denim, leather and a solid stretch material down the sides of the torso and insides of the arms. The jacket comes with an under-layer which is a vest type hoody. The hoody can be worn off the bike as well as under the jacket. When it is removed from the jacket it has front pockets and front zip. With the hoody in the jacket, it should give another layer of insulation and the hood adds the style.

The leather that is incorporated in the design adds a lot of style and is also practical to give some good abrasion protection that the denim alone cannot. The leather also gives some good structure to the jacket to better hold the armor for the shoulders and elbows in place. Speaking of armor, in addition to the shoulders and elbows, a dual density back pad is included also. It’s a good one so there is nothing else to add.

You can pair this jacket with the matching pants (take the link below) for a sharp full riding outfit. Or you can wear the jacket with any type of pants. There are straps built into the inside lower part of the jacket you can use to connect the tail of the jacket to your pants belt. Those loops are a protective feature. With those loops attached around your jean’s belt, the jacket will be held down over your midsection to give you coverage in case of a fall, so I suggest you use them when practical.

Longer styles like this one typically will have more storage than most other styles and this does too. There are four zip-close pockets on the front and inside there is a “holder” for conceal carry. It’s not a closed pocket, but rather it is a wide elastic strap sewn down on a canvas panel, and unfortunately you can’t reach it with the hoody zipped in. I really don’t think this would be too secure to hold a gun, so if you really want to carry, this might not work so well. Too bad that part is a possible bust.

But otherwise, I really like this jacket style and I think it has a lot to offer along with tons of style. :: Paul, 12-05-18
