Sizing Information

We brought in samples of these jackets and measured them and also tried them on our Fit Check mannequins Huey and Dewey. We put a 52 on Huey and a 56 on Dewey (typically they’d wear a 42/Med and 46/XL US size), and the sizes we chose give a good snug fit.

To help you choose a size based upon your chest and belly measurements, I’ve included the size chart below. It is based upon REVIT’s standard size chart and we think it is just about right. Also we’ve included a waist/belly measurement. If you have a larger belly, you’ll want to make sure you are buying a jacket that is large enough to accommodate you. If you find yourself between chest sizes in the chart, I’d advise you to choose the larger.

Jacket Size Max Chest Our Estimate
of Max Belly/Waist
46 36-37.5 35
48 37.5-39 37
50 39-40 38

Our Two Cents

When I first saw this Nova Vintage jacket in REVIT’s marketing book late last year, I was a little concerned about the colors and styling, but now that I see them in person, I’ve changed my mind…. I think they are sharp and offer something in the “vintage” category that is a bit more fashionable than others. Most other styles would be either distresses brown or black, or variations of those with white or cream stripes so it is refreshing to see something new. This jacket could be easily worn for casual wear as well as on the bike. Check out the photos we took in our own studio of the Black/Blue and Black/Green which are my two favorites. I think you’ll agree the actual production jackets look better than the marketing photos.

When you look at these jacket up close, they are very expertly “aged”. Lower quality jackets have distressed finishes, but these jacket are distressed wherever the leather rolls over at the seams to simulate years of use. The visual effect is really great. The leather itself is VERY thick and very soft as well. I can see how this jacket would have excellent abrasion resistance in a fall.

Many cruiser/retro leather jackets don’t have any armor, but this jacket if fitted with REVIT’s level 1 Seesmart armor. The level one stuff is pretty thin and extremely flexible. I don’t think you’ll even notice it is installed, but it is removable if you decide you don’t want to use it. You can add a back protector to the jacket if you like. Have a look at the sizing advice below and take the link at the bottom of this page to order.

This jacket will be best for fair to cold weather… there are no provisions for venting so a solid leather jacket like this will be uncomfortably warm in summer temps, but the jacket is fitted with a removable full sleeve thermal liner you can use in the winter. And with the solid, non-vented shell, it should be usable in very chilly weather.

This jacket is fitted with a short rear zipper for connection to REVIT pants and it also has a couple snap-close loops that can be secured around the belt of your jeans as an alternative. I see two hand warmer pockets and one inside zip pocket. And there is a key pocket on the end of the sleeve too. One other little nice touch is the short belt closure over the main zipper at the waist. That closes with a dual magnet setup and when closed will keep the steel zipper teeth from munching your paint. Overall a very nice, stylish retro/leather selection for you. :: Paul, 02-13-18

Add a Back Protector: This jacket is made with a pocket to accept a Seesoft CE Level 2 Back Protector Insert type RV (RV refers to the shape). The back protectors are sold in sizes, so choose the back protector size that fits the jacket size you choose. RV size Size 03 fits jacket sizes 46-48, Size 04 fits 50-54, Size 05 fits 56-58 and size 06 fits 60.
