Sizing Information

Most REV’IT! gloves feel a bit snug as compared to other American brands we carry and these are no exception. I’d say this one runs only slightly small, so I’d advise you to choose the size you normally wear in gloves. If you are between sizes, then choose larger. Hopefully you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair. If you have no previous experience with glove sizing, go here for help.

Also, I note that the finger length is average or longer than average so if you have shorter than average fingers you might want to look elsewhere, but if you have longer fingers, you’re in luck! Not that these are freakishly long or anything… just a bit longer than some.

Our Two Cents

These new Summit 2 H2O gloves strike me as a lot of new glove technology for the money. I’d generally describe these gloves as a “technical” sport or touring oriented waterproof riding glove.

These gloves have a light fleece liner, but I don’t detect any insulation layer, so these will be good for cooler to mild weather and of course wet weather too. If you need something for cold weather use, then look for something with insulation.

I say this one is “technical” because of a few features that have only become available in recent seasons. First is the “McFit” technology. That refers to a method of bonding the waterproof layer inside the glove to the leather shell. This is done to get away from you having the separate layer in between the liner and shell which sometimes could get wadded up or twisted, or could be torn if you forced your fingers in roughly. But with the bonding of the liner to the shell, you really can’t detect that a waterproof layer even exists. Also with this technology, the fit of the glove can be trimmer.

The gloves also have substantial armor over the knuckles which is more pliable than most. It feels like the energy absorbing foam material. The flexible material is ideal for a street touring style like this. And the palm is fitted with two layers… one of a hard plastic slider designed to slide on the pavement rather than grabbing and causing a twisting motion. And below that slider is a layer of REVIT’s Seesoft armor to absorb impact. Also, I feel impact foam over the thumb knuckle and on the backs of the fingers. All this adds up to a LOT of protective features for a waterproof style glove.

The gloves also have a tricky little strap/buckle arrangement at the wrist to keep the gloves firmly on your hand in case of impact. You’ll have to try this out to get the hang of it, but it’s made so that you can shove your hand in and quickly tighten the strap with the large Velcro close tab, then after you snug the small strap you close the gauntlet with the large strap. Like I said…. tricky, but not a game-changer :)

Overall there is a lot of tech here and all in a quality package from a great brand. :: Paul, 02-17-16
