Sizing Information

We find that gloves from REV’IT! are generally very consistent in fit from one model to the next, and we find they run a bit on the snug side as compared to most US based brands. The fit is very similar to Alpinestars which also fit more snugly than other brands of gloves. The tendency to run small is not so noticeable that we’d advise you to buy one size larger, but if you are sometimes in between sizes, your best shot would be to choose larger. Hopefully you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair. If you have no previous experience with glove sizing, go here for help.

Our Two Cents

The Livengood GTX gloves from REVIT are a part textile and part leather full featured winter glove with very good protection features.

The Livengood GTX is almost the same glove as the Kodiak GTX glove which is also new for 2018 except the Livengood is leather on the palm side and textile on the back of the hand where the Kodiak is leather all over. The part-textile shell is a little lighter and a littler more flexible than the all leather glove. They feel great with the plushy liner and the Primaloft insulation which is very soft. And the waterproof liner used is genuine Gore Tex which is the best for keeping water out, but also to allow the perspiration to escape.

The notable protection features here are the substantial protector built in over the knuckle and the hard plastic slider in the palm of the hand. The slider is a feature found on most race gloves. The slider will promote sliding if you hit the pavement rather than grabbing or torquing which more likely occurs with just plain leather or padding. The slider is integrated into the design so you really won’t feel it and it is covered in an extra layer of the leather that extends on up the pinkie.

You’ll see reflective material built into the design too. They are darker in color than the typical silver ones, so they work well at night but also look good in the day. Each glove has a strip of soft fabric (or suede leather, I’m not sure which) down the inside of the index finger so you can wipe your visor.

The gloves secure to your hand with the triangular strap at the wrist. Its a little strange at first, but then becomes pretty handy. It is designed to be able to work to snug down the glove or loosen it up even with a gloved hand, which is especially hand with an insulated glove like this. You’ll see what I mean when you try them out.

Like REVIT’s description below suggests, I do note that the insulation on the palm side is just a little thinner than on the back of the hand, so they’ll work well with heated grips. But they aren’t completely unlined like some gloves make specifically for that purpose. And the GoreTex liner in this glove is bonded to the glove’s shell so the overall package is just a bit less bulky than a non-bonded type.

Considering the gloves use the genuine Gore Tex bonded liner, they are also very fairly priced at about $10 less than the all-leather Kodiak version (non-bonded GoreTex). :: Paul, 10-10-18

REVIT says: We’ve created a pair of gloves that balances insulation and warmth for those who use their heated grips: the Livengood GTX. Because of the relatively thin insulation, these gloves can be worn year-round, with or without the use of any additional hand warming devices. The inclusion of GORE-TEX® with Gore™ grip technology means that the waterproof membrane is directly laminated to the inside of the outer-shell, which significantly reduces water pick-up so the gloves stay dry and lightweight all the time.Furthermore, Primaloft® Gold is used to give your hands the warmth they need, while the abrasion-resistant materials protect your hands in case of a slide.
