REV'IT! Fusion 2 GTX Gloves

Outer Shell

Goatskin drum dyed with WR finish: Tanned leather made from goatskin is considered extremely durable, and is often used for gloves and other products that require a soft hide. Goatskin with a WR finish has undergone a process that makes it water-repellent and soil-resistant. The WR coating is bonded to the material at the molecular level, enhancing the material’s natural water-repellence and soil-resistance, without altering how the fabric looks, feels, or breathes.

Flock PU: Flocking is the process of adhering small fibre particles (called flock) onto a surface. This process creates a texture that picks up water.

Connect finger tip leather: Never remove your gloves to answer your phone or use your navigation system again. The connect fingertip leather has been developed specifically to operate touch screens.

PWR|shell 500D, PU coated fabric: This material is REV’IT!’s take on Cordura®. Consisting of 100% high-performance Polyamide yarns, PWR|shell takes the best properties of Cordura® – high melting point, tremendous tear- and abrasion-resistance, and excellent durability – and puts the unique REV’IT! design stamp on it. PWR|shell provides high-performance protection for every rider.

Protection

PWR|shell 500D twill stretch covered TPR finger knuckle protectors: TPR offers excellent resistance to impact; flex fatigue and tearing making it an ideal defensive material for knuckle protection. The TPR parts feature a PWR|shell covering to create a smooth look.

EVA foam thumb knuckle, PWR|Shell 500D Twill Stretch Covered Hard Shell Knuckle: The twill stretch material covers the protective hard shell knuckle for a uniform and sleek look. Both knuckle and fabric are very strong.

Temperfoam®: Self-contouring foam that is not CE-approved, but still offers a great number of impact-resistant properties, this product is used in areas where mobility and fit are a must, such as the hips. Temperfoam® comes in a solid version as well as a perforated version.

TPU hard-shell palm slider: Palm slider made of a durable and high abrasion resistant TPU material at the palm side of the glove. The palm slider makes sure that the glove slides in case the palm of the hand comes in contact with the asphalt. The abrasion resistance of gloves equipped with these sliders is greatly increased, thus reducing the risk of injury significantly.

Waterproofing and Breathability

GORE-TEX membrane: The GORE-TEX membrane is the essential element of all GORE-TEX Gloves. It contains over 1.4 billion microscopic pores per square centimeter. These pores are 20,000 times smaller than a water droplet, but 700 times larger than a water vapor molecule. This makes the GORE-TEX membrane completely waterproof from the outside, while allowing perspiration to escape from the inside. An oleophobic, or oil-hating, substance is integrated into the membrane, preventing the penetration of such compounds as body oils and insect repellent, which could otherwise affect the membrane.

Insulation

High loft fur liner: This type of insulation mimics the natural insulation properties of animal fur, a high loft construction; containing more air then fiber; it is a type of natural insulation that traps in the heat.

THERMOLITE® Plus with Exkin® Platinum®: The Exkin® Platinum® insulation layer is made of a reflective material which preserves radiant body heat and prevents heat loss from the cold, an ultimate technology to improve the insulation properties of the product.

Features

Grip patch: A grip patch is made with a texturized pattern to deliver a superb grip performance.

Elastic at wrist

Connect finger tip: Never take off your gloves again to answer your phone or navigation system. The connect fingertip has been specifically designed to operate touch screens.

Visor wiper: The material used on the index finger of the glove has a visor wipe function. It helps clear water or moisture off the visor for better visibility when riding in wet weather.

Adjustability

Single motion closure system at cuff: The innovative closure system allows for adjusting and closing the wrist straps in a single movement.

Fit: Tour fit

Sizing Information

We find REV’IT! gloves to run a bit on the snug side as compared to most US based brands… much like Alpinestars. This glove is not so snug that I’d recommend you buy one size larger than normal, but certainly if you are between sizes, then choosing the larger of the two should work. Hopefully you’ve had some experience with buying gloves and can choose based upon the fit of a previous pair. If you have no previous experience with glove sizing, go here for help

Our Two Cents

REVIT Fusion 2 GTX Gloves are new for 2020 and combine Gore-Tex with a well armored glove for winter use. The palm sides of these hands have minimal insulation so they’ll work great with heated grips.

That’s right… the palm side has very little insulation, so if you have heated grips, you’ll love how fast the heat transfers through the palm material of this glove into your hand, but if you don’t have heated grips, you probably won’t like how fast your hands get cold!

REVIT put together an excellent overview of features in their bulleted list above, so I won’t take you through all that, but I want to mention some of the key points. One strong point in the armor is the palm slide. It is hard plastic and promotes sliding along pavement if you fall, which can reduce the tendency of your hand to roll if soft leather is the contact point. Not many gloves have this feature.

The second main point is the use of Gore-Tex as the waterproofing material, and these have it. The use of Gore-Tex typically adds about $35 to the price of a glove as compared to gloves that use “generic” waterproofing materials. Gore-Tex has been a leader for as long as I’ve been in the motorcycle gear business, and people pay it, so I think we all have to agree, for those that ride in rain frequently, it’s worth it. These gloves don’t use the “bonded” Gore-Tex material called Gore Grip, which would drive the price even higher (like with the Dominator GTX gloves), so these gloves fall into a reasonable mid-price range.

The palm side of this glove is leather and the back of the hand is mostly textile. A combination of material makes this glove light and flexible and a bit less expensive than a full leather glove. Other nice feature are the soft wiper material on the sides of both index fingers and the touch sensitive finger tips so you can operate your phone. :: Paul, 02-21-20

REVIT says: In theory, inclement weather shouldn’t dissuade riders from getting out on two wheels. But, we get it. Motivation might not be high to suit-up and get out there when sub-zero temperatures loom. We’re here to give you that extra reassurance – in terms of keeping hands warm – when you decide to take the plunge. We’ve created our Fusion 2 GTX gloves to work symbiotically with heated grips (should you have that luxury on your bike). Not only do they tick all the boxes in terms of style but they also combine stretchable, water-repellent fabric on the upper hand with leather on the palm, topped off with the TPU hard shell palm slider for maximum safety. The top of the Fusion 2 GTX is protected by PWRIshell 500D twill stretch, along with hard shell knuckle and finger protectors. The glove can be secured in one single move with our unique Single Motion Closure system. Waterproofing is then guaranteed by GORE-TEX, rounding out an incredible glove for the most trying conditions. See you out there!
