Sizing Information

We measured each jacket size and tried the size Medium in this jacket on Huey. This is the size he normally wears and it fit very well.

This Speed and Strength jacket is a sport fit and fits close to the body. My primary advice would be to wear the size you normally wear in men’s clothing. If you are between sizes I’d advise you to go up.

If you want to double check your sizing by measuring your chest, you can use the chart below to choose a size. The Max Chest sizes listed by Speed and Strength are a bit bigger than many manufacturer’s conversion chart. As I indicated above, these jackets are a close fit, so I’d advise that the max chest is closer to the lower end of the ranges listed below. For example, the XL is listed as 46-48”, but I think they’ll fit a 46 chest OK, but if you have a 48 chest, you’ll need to go to the next size.

Size Small Medium Large XL 2XL 3XL
Max Chest 38-40 40-42 42-44 46-48 50-52 54-56
Sleeve 32 33 34 35 36 36 1/2

If you have a bit of a belly, you might want to put a tape around it and make sure the size you are choosing will work for the belly as well. The max belly sizes for any jacket size will be about 4” smaller than the max chest. For example, the size XL will handle up to a max 46” chest so the max belly will be about 42”

Our Two Cents

The Sure Shot by Speed and Strength is a sharply styled sport style textile jacket. The shell is a combination of materials and the liner is styled to be used not only as a thermal liner but a “destination jacket”.

The shell of this jacket is part standard textile and part stretch material. The black parts under the arms and on the side of the torso are the stretch material parts. Being stretchy, the jacket can be styled more snugly, but still give good range of motion. The styling is neutral, but sport and urban riders will like the fit of this jacket.

This jacket includes removable armor impact protectors in the shoulders, elbows and in the back. The armor is very flexible and the back pad has a good sturdy feel to it. All the armor pieces are CE rated, so there is nothing else to buy.

One unique thing about this jacket is the design of the removable thermal liner. It isn’t specific to wearing under the jacket, but rather it can be worn by itself which adds usability beyond just its usefulness as extra insulation for the jacket. The torso is quilted with contrast stitching and the arms are like a hoody with knit cuff ends. Its really a nice idea I think.

I’d recommend this style for colder to mild weather which for most, will cover about three seasons of the year. The shell will breath well and there are two zippered vents on the front and two on the back, but those zips won’t be enough to qualify this jacket as a summer jacket too. For hot weather, you’ll want to have something with mesh for better air flow through the shell.

I can see this jacket as being a good one for the everyday rider, especially more sport oriented riders and I like the unique design of the multi-use thermal liner. :: Paul, 03-12-18
