Most gloves sold in the US are offered in “alpha” sizes (Small, Medium, Large, etc). But Held gloves are sold in glove sizes. The most accurate way to choose a glove size is to measure your hands using the directions and charts below. But just to get you started in the right direction, you can use this chart to see what Held glove size(s) corresponds to your alpha size:

Alpha Size
6 – 6 1/2 XS

Measuring Your Hands:

Here is complete sizing help directly from the folks that distribute Held gloves in the United States:

  • Use a flexible measuring tape to measure your hand in inches.
  • Measure around your hand, behind the knuckles, not including the thumb (see the photo below).
  • Take an accurate, snug measurement. Measure both hands and use the largest measurement. Now you may compare your measurement to the size chart.

Women’s Glove Sizing:

Women’s Held glove styles have been sized specifically for the female hand. As compared to men’s Held gloves, the women’s versions have slightly longer and more slender fingers. The selection of women’s gloves works just like with men’s, measure you hand around the knuckles to choose the overalls size. Most women’s styles are offered in full sizes 6, 7 and 8, but some styles are offered in half sizes and also long and short finger versions.

A Couple Tips for Judging Fit:

Held gloves should fit snug when new. They will stretch out during break in and form to fit your hand. Held kangaroo gloves are a very precise fit. Because our gloves are such a fitted glove, many people enjoy the snug fit. This is actually a comfortable fit, with few wrinkles and little crumpling in the palm area. A properly fitted glove will “fit you like a glove”.
